Original vocals on this rare extended version. Recorded around 1970 and previously unreleased, this track appears on the 2008 remastered edition of 'Every Good Boy Deserves Favour' cd. At the beginning, Ray says, "It's the marriage of classical and rock." Also, the picture at 2:48 is a Coke ad from a Dutch magazine.

Great song.  And the pictures show another side of the Moodies: when they were young they were not only great musicians, but really cute, impossibly sexy.  The Coke shows it all: over the top.

This is an automatic choice for us old guys. It would have fit in on any Beatles album.

Still have great memories of the late Mike Webb using this as a music theme for his late night radio show. KIRO Seattle listeners know what I'm talking about.

I have been accepted as the only maker of this song. I made it because the Moody Blues band, which existed before me was a favorite of mine. I felt that they had the most chance of becoming a major everliving group. The happy tone of this band was what attracted me.

+60s70sVintage If you haven't already done so, listen to the original version of Isn't Life Strange; the instrumental middle section will be one of the most gorgeous, heavenly instrumental passages you'll ever hear; Mike's work on the Mellotron and the Chamberlain, as well as Ray's flute playing during this section is beyond 5-star!!

Unfortunate we didn’t hear from Pinder at the Rock Hall induction ceremony.
