What is the benefit of the fanned frets? How do they effect playing? How do they effect standard tuning 9 gauge strings for a 6 string guitar? I am deciding on fanned frets and then will send my order form to Skervesen

Do you own the Skervesen Chocolate? If not, do you know who does? I purchased the Chocolate 002 model, and I'm trying to get more information on it. Are there any more Chocolate models other than the 01 and the 002 I own?

"Generic Song Test" eh? Well, compared to what a decent number of guitarist play with guitars like those, I'd say that was anything but generic (99% better if you ask me) bravo good sir, bravo. You just earned yourself a subscriber. Also, I was hoping I could get your opinion on pickups. I don't have any high end or custom shop guitars (I don't feel I have the skills yet that would warrant having one anyway) just my Jackson Rhoads Performer series and since I don't have the money for a whole new guitar, I was thinking about upgrading what I do have starting with the pickups.Originally, I had planed on going with an EMG 81TW in the bridge and a 89R in the neck, but due to both my overall uncertainty and all the crap that EMG's get, I'm not so sure. My next considerations are Dimarzios or BKP's (both of which I don't know much about) but I'm primarily leaning towards the latter as I've never heard anything negative about them. Basically my questions are as followed;1. Would pu's such as BKP's perform decently in a old intermediate level guitar made from what I'd guess is basswood with a bolt on maple neck.and2. Do they (or any other brand you may know of) have versatile models? I'm looking for something that has a wide array of tones and sounds, something that would be good for multiple genres including ones that are nowhere near alike. I'm not expecting the pu to be perfect with absolutely everything, but I don't want to be severely limited to what I can play. Also, given what's already said this probably goes without saying but, It has to have coil splitting options. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the guitar and the tone you want. For ash body and rosewood/maple necks I prefer Warpig's full tone but Aftermath is also cool, just cleaner-sounding (still very good). For basswood body it's the other way round, Warpig is too much here but Aftermath complements the guitar nicely. My other favourites are Blackhawks (very aggressive, a bit too much even) and Nailbomb (versatile and a safe bet in almost every guitar).

I have played almost all of their humbucker pickups in various guitars, mainly Music Man, Skervesen, Blackat and more. Have you got any specific questions? :)

Both guitars have ash bodies, burl poplar tops and ebony fingerboards. Raptor has kotibe neck and Swan has rosewood/ebony neck. They are very similar in sound but the Swan is fuller, with more meat, although still with lot of definition.

What are the woods used in both guitars? The sound is very selective but still nicely compressed :)
