well i think the music of it was written all the time but it was originally fantine's song and was basically a continuation of j'avais revee (i dreamed a dream). but yeah the lyrics of this version were translated and . i think bring him home was written for the english show too :)

Who knew that Les Mis (the musical) was originally written in French? Eponine's original song didn't make the cut when it was re-written in English, but "On My Own" was such a hit that they translated THAT back into French as "Mon Histoire" (My Story). And it is beautiful.
