Who are these guys? Is there 1 original member? RIP Duane and Danny Joe. Saw the real band back in 80 and 81. (With Jimmy). Not sure the point of tribute bands like this and the latest version of Skynyrd.

You can be a Son of the South and also be Black,Asian,Or Native American. In Southern Rock in the 1960s during the civil rights movement Black and white musicians played together ,My Father is French Acadian/Choctaw mix his skin is red as such he often encountered racism in the 60s and 70s Soul food and Southern food is the same thing.

Wow, I thought this is just a song but apparently this song is about political debate. If I may correct you sir: The Freemason society has nothing to do with the Klan, and we are NOT a secret society. The Freemason society has been consist of many, regardless of race, colour or creed. And FYI: Albert Pike had never been involved in any KKK activities. By the way, the confederate did not represent racism. Please get your facts straight, do your own research.

@MPOden90 No, you're wrong. When it *started* it wasn't a hate group. But it most certainly is now.

The Self Sufficient Life

The KKK was formed as home guards after the civil war to protect their home against roaming bands of renegades which included blacks and whites. They wore the "bedsheets" to protect their identity because the gov't "officials" had proclaimed it illegal for them to form units to protect the families. I don't know at what point it became a racial thing but it has no bearing on this forum. The point is that this is good music but it really isn't the same without Danny Joe Brown.
