With Skynyrd coming before them to pave the way for these guys and .38 Special too, it turned out to hurt them too. Molly and .38 laid their own grooves respectively. But having to follow the GOLD standard in general where writing, arranging and performing is concerned is a daunting task. Molly deserves induction and the ultimate esteem having made its mark following the "Southern Rock Gods" that is the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. I'm not here to educate a soul here. The fact you took the time and effort to YouTube and listen speaks to your remarkable taste in the "real kind" of music speaks volumes. This band is rooted in its original lineup and for me, not even close. Saw them in I wanna say '83 since "Fall of the Peacemakers" was the closing number. I did this because a friend had so much affinity and belief in Molly Hatchet she paid my way after tiring of me blindly dismissing this band as a Skynyrd wanna be, copy. Glad I went! I've seen different incarnations of MH over the years but I guess nothing compares to your first time. This band right here has its own niche and are VERY much in their own genre. Just bothers me how Skynyrd both opened the door and almost made Molly automatically 2nd rate. This band is not and never was on Skynyrd's coattails.

This is one of the best pieces of southern rock ever played and perhaps the best of MH. One wishes it never ends...! Incredibly flawless! Hublek and Holland are absolutely at their finest. And the rough voice of the late DJB is just perfect for their music. Too bad they don´t music like this anymore... God bless you, Danny!!

I can't believe the douche from All American Rejects actually auditioned to replace the late Danny Joe Brown (R.I.P.) as Hatchet's singer when the band decided to reform upon the wishes of DJ's family. Imagine how disastrous that would be to have such an untalented dork like that fronting one of southern rock's greatest bands.
