Here Eddie sings Molly Darling on the early LP "Anytime". This is the very early version probably with Roy Wiggens on steel guitar and maybe one violin (of course, later he introduced an entire string section!). Thanks to "Oldcountrytunes" for motivating me to find this one.

This song was recorded Aug 19, 1947; Also Dec ' 59. I don't know when this one was recorded, but if you want to hear the orginal, look for the one that plays for 2:51 min. This one plays too slow. Hope this helps. I always say, "you can't beat the original".

Tell me who didn't listen to Eddy. Bing and his sons, Frank would have a record of Eddy. Elvis, George Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jim Reeves, Hank Snow, everybody sang Eddy's songs!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember Eddy Arnold when I just a child of 5 years old in Eufaula,, Alabama on his radio program for Purina Feeds. He never changed his style thank goodness. He exceeds more than just country.

No one listens but the flowers While they hang their heads in shame They are modest, Molly darling When they hear me call your name. Molly fairest, sweetest, dearest Look up darling, tell me this Do you love me, Molly darling? Let your answer be a kiss.

Won't you tell me, Molly darling That you love none else but me For I love you, Molly darling You are all the world to me, oh! Tell me darling that you love me Put your little hand in mine Take my heart, sweet Molly darling Say that you will give me thine. Stars are smilin', Molly darling Through the mystic veil of night They seem laughing, Molly darling While fair Luna hides her light, oh! (cont'd)
