When I was 16 years old and going to Hollywood High SchooI I went to a birthdays party at Molly's home. I am trying to remember who she was going with but he was the heart throb of the time and it was tabloid stuff. Anyway, Molly came in and sang for us and she danced with me. That was a meaningful moment in my then young life, I have never forgotten Molly and have wondered what happened to her. And now I know. Sweet gal.

Among the albums that Molly had, 'It's Great, It's Molly Bee,' and 'Good Golly, Ms. Molly' were VERY, VERY GOOD. Unfortunately, neither made any noise on the charts. Both albums had songs that deserved more attention, but nothing happened. It is no wonder that she was unknown, but it's such a waste of great talent.

@asbpab1966 Molly was never a big name in Country Music even though she made many recordings. Her only big hit was in 1953 when she was 13 years old with a version of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", She was a regular on a couple of TV shows and in the early 60's made a few Low Budget movies. They tried to make her a Movie Star like Debbi Reynolds but it didn't work out.. She was really cute and was my first teenage crush. I loved that ponytail.

Very nice song. I've been listening to country music since 1969, yet I don't remember the name "Molly Bee."

Thank you so much for this song! I had this Molly Bee song as well as another song of hers (I Got A Man) on one of my 45 RPM records (my record collection was stolen, unfortunately), and I have anxiously been waiting to hear this song again. Thanks again!

Thanks for telling me. I'm just a little older than Molly was and I had my first crush on her when I was 14. So she was a big part of my child hood.

Molly Bee, the country singer who shot to fame at age 13 with the 1952 novelty hit "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," has died of complications following a stroke. She was 69. Bee died Saturday at a hospital in Oceanside, her manager, Rick Saphire, told The Associated Press. REST IN PEACE MOLLY BEE!

I have 9 of Whitburns books, when he gets into the eighties and above he loses my interest. But I am looking for his book on the R&B charts. The ones I've seen listed is way more than I think they are worth.

I have 10 or 11 Joel Whitburn books! What always surprises me is that some of the great songs never charted on any genre's charts.

OK It was the Country Charts. I'm not much into Country and my Referance Book on The Country Hits Just goes to the Top Forty Hits. You may say I like Country when it isn't too Country. I loved the songs Hank Williams wrote as long as someone else sang them.

Hey markalson1938. My chart information came for Joel Whitburn's Top Country Singles 1944-1993. Billboard. That is a very useful reference for the country side of music. Thanks again for posting Molly's song.

Yes I know about Roy Clark's Recording Charting But I just checked again my book of "Billboard's Hot 100" and Molly's recording isn't there. So I don't know which chart you are you have.

There is another song (not on YouTube) by Johnny and Joni Mosby called 'Take a left and Then a Right' 1967 Charted #36.... Down three blocks look for a light, if it's off come on in, if it's on he's home again! (Scandalous!!) I cannot find it on iTunes or Rhapsody so maybe some good samaritan here can find it or has it.
