I'm from the west coast. But I'm also a HUGE Mobb AND PAC fan. Matter of fact, I just love incredible music and there's no denying that this brought out the best in BOTH of them. First off, lyrically I mean straight up MC'n is P's comfort zone, therefore naturally he's gonna "Drop a Gem" and this track was no exception, he killed his verse. With that said, I find it almost disrespectful that anyone could actually break down Pac's work and insinuate that his lyrics were anything but creative or "deep." He was a natural poet, and he displayed a great deal of growth in such a short time, just peep his work on Makaveli, a true masterpiece and one we will quite possibly never see again. Mobb did some damage on this track, there's NO denying that, but PAC was a worthy opponent and my respect to Mobb just for having the courage to even fight back while Many other rappers tucked their tails. Rather than tear down either rapper(s), I choose to just appreciate both of their brilliance.

They said that when PAC heard "drop a gem on em" he was furious and he recorded a bunch of mobb deep disses. It is sad that PAC passed away because this to me was going to be a classic battle.

[Later on in prison, Tupac heard a song by Mobb Deep, in it they said "Thug Life, We Living It". Tupac told some of his boys to confront Mob Deep at a concert, and when they were confronted, Mobb Deep ran away in thier car. Tupac continued to dis them on many records, including "Hit 'Em Up", and "When I Ride On My Enemies". Tupac raps about Prodigy's sickle cell anemia in Hit 'Em Up.]Just read this about their beef from a couple different sources... ..Sounds like Mobb Deep was really gangsta.... lmao

This song is hot but hit em up is way better. Hit em up was the hottest diss track when it came out and no rapper could top that. When Pac was alive westcoat rap ruled the world man no joke, but much respect to New york. If biggie and pac was still alive they would probably make songs together I think they would squash their beef.

Funny how Cali's best selling artist was originally a New York native. West side was never fucking with the East side. Hip-Hop's home, we birthed you niggas.
