Here is the official music video for "The Wave," by Miike Snow, the latest installment in the Jean Noel saga.

The video is a continuation of a thread which began in their last video for "Paddling Out." In that video, a group of unfortunates were abducted to space in an experiment to create a perfect human named Jean Noel. Following some pretty brutal chainsaw surgery, the video ended with Jean crashing to earth in a spaceship seemingly manned by classical-era twins.

Both videos were directed by Swedish Director Andreas Nillson, who's work includes MGMT and Fever Ray. Rumours the entire plot was cooked up after a real life after hours chain saw massacre are currently unconfirmed.

On Tuesday, March 20, Miike Snow will stop off in NYC at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg. Tickets are limited and Terminal 5 tickets holders have a limited pre-sale. General tickets are on-sale March 15th @ 12pm PST here: http://www.j.mp/ms-wburg-tickets

&^^****FOR THOSE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS****^^&There actually is meaning here to all the randomness. First, put yourself in the year, it's 2012, and were barely beginning to pull out of the recession (we still really haven't), but at the time there was absolutely no end in sight. The Recession really began when the housing market crashed, hence the crashing house at the beginning and end of the video (also symbolic). (The recession happened for plenty of reasons, but 2008 is what really kicked it off. Funding a holy war and spending billions to trillions of dollars on useless environmentalist equipment didn't help either). So the house crashes, but people move on. The recession begins, and everyone continues as normal, in routine. Because who is really affected? The Children. Forced to pick up the mess off a backwash of governmental bounds and an ocean of noise and debt. Because of decisions made by leaders on both sides of the equation over the course of the last 20 years. So what do the cops (or symbolic of government in this case) do? They come to clean up the mess, before anyone can find out. There here stuffing the damage into body bags, sipping coffee, and eating donuts as if nothing happened. Attempting to shove away what they have done knowing they have just repeated history. But their plan fails, because we the people (the creepy nose men), know whats going on. The men in the video represent the people in society who are willing to try and fix this. Notice these guys are running towards the problem. The come knowing they cant repair the damage already done, but they understand that this isn't the last of it, unless we change. They understand that it all could get much much worse unless things are stopped. So they come to shout at them. While the government dances and does their thing, the people willing to stand up are shouting at the government trying to get them to hear, before "The Wave" totally consumes them all.The news reporter staring at the people running to the problem represents the media. Continually convincing everyone there is either no problem, or that what they are doing is going to be just fine and effective in fixing it. They watch in disgust or confusion as people run to a problem they pretend isn't there.I know you hear it comingI know you hear the soundI know you feel it comingDon't let it get you down"Don't let it get you down" is a call to action. A plea for people to join in the shouting. They have the large noses because they know something the people with out it don't. They can smell the wave, the impending doom. Because the effects of the recession aren't the end. The album as a whole is about socialism and worse totalitarian governmental structures, like fascism, communism, etc. The effects of the housing crash will only divert blame away from the people really responsible, we will continue to try and throw oil on the fire to try and fix the problem, continually introducing more and more socialistic systems to try and fix the mess when in reality it's what caused the problem in the first place. The red car that passes the man at the end represents the general public that continually pass by the shouters, acting as if there isnt a problem, wishing it away. Not taking action. As we all continue "Staring at The Wave"
