I remember listening to this song for the first time around 2010 and thus end up discovering the Slenderman myth, SomethingAwful and Marble Hornets due to the few amount (about 5 comments) of people mentioning what the picture was also used for. Holy fuck now it's 2015! And the Slenderman myth is really big now!!! Time has flied so fast man, this gives me so much nostalgia back when people didn't even know who Slender was and I was one of the few who talked about Slender in my school xD good ol' days :) Midnight Syndicate is forever part of that.

This sounds like some attempt at John Carpenter's Halloween theme. It's incredibly similar, almost as if it's just at a much slower tempo, and maybe bumped down an octave or two with a slight variation of note value and placement. It's good, don't get me wrong, but the underlying elements of such an iconic tune are very strong here.
