I always said that Midnight Oil could make a great avant-garde rock instrumental band. The lyrics and vocals are amazing, but if you stripped them away everyone one of their songs would hold up as an instrumental. You can't say that for most rock bands, who often play "backing tracks". This sounds improvised. I like it.
