Good points, part of it probably is due to personality moreso than guitar playing. When it came down to when MickT left, Keith would fight Taylor and that was one of several reasons Mick got tired of being w/ the Stones. He believed he was better off without them. Then flash to 1984-85. Some credit Ron Wood with being the only reason the LP Dirty Work got released b/c he was a great peacemaker between Mick Jagger and Keef

Taylor is a pretty good vocalist. I saw him at BluesFest in Chicago back in 2005. I could listen to his guitar all day.

Ron Wood's a hack compared to Taylor in terms of musical virtuosity, but he's somehow more appropriate, more "Stones-y." I don't really get it, personally. He was just meant to be in that band, where Taylor's run now seems sort of accidental, almost.

It sounds like Rod Stewart's "Hot Legs" towards the end, but that isn't much of a surprise.
