This is where I learned about melodicism in guitar playing. Mick Taylor was soulful as they came with a beautiful vibrato and nice choice of notes. A huge influence! !

@upr1ght Mick once said he always felt cheated that the Stones didn't share royalties on that (and his guitar part certainly made the tune exceptional), and then, to hear it as a wistful fade under the solo...subtle, touching...Soul. Love that tone.

@grubbetuchus Was deeply into this when it was first release...still am. The most touching part of this tune comes around 4:18, when the guitar behind the solo begins an ascending mode (single notes rising), taken straight out of "Time Waits for No One", some of Mick's finest playing (with Nicky Hopkins) on the Stones "It's Only Rock and Roll."

I was so bummed when Mick Taylor left the Stones. I remember seeing this album in a store right after it came out. I started to buy it but then said, "Nah, I'll get it later." I never did. All these years later, this is the first I'm hearing of it. Thanks for posting it!

E' incredibile come Mick Taylor sia pressochè sconosciuto alle grandi platee, il suo talento è veramente cristallino

whats different ? standard blues by mick, whats different is his take on it and originality in the blues tradition.

@marrrkeeee Hello. Where does Jeff Beck play like this? I'm mostly familiar with the first two albums of the JB Group. As for Frampton, I've only just discovered him, though I already knew Humble Pie.

@marrrkeeee It is not a contest. This type of music isn't bad, better, worse, left or right. It's different. DIFFERENT. All those guitarists aren't better, worse or anything else but DIFFERENT. There is no WINNER or LOSER.
