Check out my cover of this lovely song (done much truer to Lindsey's, which I also prefer), and see what you think: Walk A Thin Line (cover by Adam Burke)

I love the African backing vocals. This is hard to get now, so thanks for the upload!

This doesn't even come close to capturing the magic of the Tusk version

George on Guitars and slide guitar great song!

this version is way too fast and poppy. Tusk version is nice, but Deerhunter version is pure bliss. Lindsey should rework it more in the Deehunter vein. or however he feels would be good, as long as FM performs it live. :)

I like this version of "walk the thin line", but the original "walk the thin line" from the album "tusk " is amazing!!

@admiralyost The person listed as playing Bass on the record is George Hawkins. He is also the guy who sings lead vocals on this song and most of the others on the album. Is he your uncle?

my uncle played bass on this record. i remember the band going to africa and recording this awesome lp and a great video for their journey. i was 10, and he was my hero... awesome post. great memory.

Love this! I love this whole album. Tragically overlooked. But it was way ahead of its time. Magnificent collaboration among Mick, George Harrison, George Hawkins, and the Adjo group!

I respectfully disagree. (Big George Harrison fan here)

I think the Tusk version was much better (my own opinion; and I LOVE George Harrison!) if you haven't heard it I recommend you do.
