This is the ultimate feel good melancholy song - it has such a good vibe, makes me smile always! An exceptionally well written song and hugely underrated - this version only!

@slightofffist Here, Here! We may never know without interviewing or researching the one who wrote "Sometimes", but I wouldn't be surprised if the composer of this song mentions being somewhat influenced by Sly Stone. Not to take anything away from whom ever wrote "Sometimes", for there is nothing wrong with taking the old, and adding something new to it and recreating or revamping it. Which is why R. Kelly's voice and writting style is very similar to Marvin Gaye. Malik Jubal

@LordIam1 I thought of Sly Stone Family also. I think it was Sly's peculiarly-prophetic-proclivity, if you will, of using his unique voice as a digital medium to punctuate a particular lyric-line. He'd set it up by coming-in just ahead of everybody else. Of course, Sly being sly, was always centuries ahead of everybody else. Then again, maybe everyone else was playing catch-up to him.

@LordIam1 Stop overexaggerating about the movie, it wasn't that bad. And the song wasn't made for the movie so get over it. Even if it was people weren't paying money to hear a song at the end of a movie.

Very poetic song of human spirit and the quest to discover our place as individuals. This song is a testament of the miracle of unconditional love, courage, hope and faith. Sort of reminicent of a few of Sly & Family Stone tunes. I first heard "Sometimes" in the closing credits of one of the worst movies ever "Mystery Men", and this song wasn't played till almost the end of the credits, so most folks will never hear it if the remote is at hand and they didn't care much for the movie.
