Bought this as soon as it came out. I understand what Metallica was trying to do on this album. And I appreciate the work that went into the writing and performance. It isn't a weak album- they were still swinging for the fences. But hey, Babe Ruth struck out a lot, too. It just doesn't cut it for me. They refocused on "Death Magnetic" and it all came together. Excuse me while I go listen to "Orion."

Trash Can Snare. Lulu. Load and ReLoad, which had some hits but was an overall letdown. This wasn't good either, however it deserves recognition as it shows the aggressiveness and post alcoholism of a crumbling band. Then they made Death Magnetic, which was nice.
