Having ignored Metallica's post 80's output since the 80's, I feel qualified to state that Load and Reload sound like throw away bluesy hard rock in the style of the Black album. I find very few redeeming qualities in these tracks - the direction they took was pretty terrible, in hindsight.

these albums are underated because there is a lot of filler on both albums. If they made only one album with the best songs of the load/reload albums, that would be one of the best metallica albums of all time
