Death magnetic, in my opinion, may even be better than Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. I always play that album going to and from the gym.

I disagree. Except for "Nothing Else Matters," the Black Album was not commercial sounding. It sounded very heavy and still had the spirit of the first four records. It's just that Metallica weren't playing 120 miles hour at that point. Load was when Metallica lost it's way, and the downward spiral continued with Re-Load and St. Anger.

Death Magnetic is a great album. It combines the best aspects of the first five studio albums. It's similar to what Iron Maiden did with 2000's Brave New World, which merges all of the best parts of Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
