well Im sure they do influence people ya know, but to say Dishcarge owns MetallicA is a one sided statement, to feel like they are better for whatever reason is a personal opinion and is a persons right to have, but saying they OWN MetallicA is ignorant. Not saying MetallicA is "better" (Although i think they are) but these are all based on opinions, and whether or not you enjoy there music you would have to be a moron to say none of them are talented.

i dunno if u know anything about underground metal but many thrash metal bands and other bands from different metal genres have stated in interviews that discharge did have in influence in their music. james and lars have both said that discharge and even other bands like the exploited and the misfits had influence on them in the early days. just watch the get thrash movie lol

and me being a fan of MetallicA doesnt mean I immedeately think they r the best ever and blah blah blah- i think about shit, I love KoRn, yet I understand why people hate them, Jon can sometimes sound like a whiney bitch, but to me its cause he is putting his heart and soul into and i fucking love his voice.

well cake is an influence to me, does that mean that if I become a huge rock legend, that cake had a huge influence? Not saying they didnt anyways, but im not aware of it. And no it doesnt make Discharge a true most influence, they did garage to pay respect to bands they loved that influenced them, not saying discharge didnt have an influence in music, but I garauntee it was quite limited compared to the scope of MetallicA- and they hated all that glam bullshit they didnt need influence for it.

Yeah so influential that they are doing a cover of another band's song. But I get it - Metallica was influenced by Discharge so they are paying them respect with a cover. So if you influence one of the most influential bands doesn't that make you the true most influential? You should quit being such a fanboy and think about what you are saying first. Without punk bands such as Discharge and the Misfits there would be no Metallica - they would have been a glam band like Poison or Cinderella.
