Not for nothing, every Thrash Metal and Metallica fan complains about Load and ReLoad moving away from Thrash Metal, and even though there were some okay songs on those albums they were definitely a huge shift from everything prior to them. However, more people seem to hate on St. Anger, but this album has some truly heavy songs on it and some really fast riffs, despite shit like Sweet Amber and Invisible Kid. St. Anger is definitely on the good list, and Lars' snare drum kicks fuckin ass.

This would have been a great experimental album if it weren't so terribly mixed. Even the drum sound would have been tolerable to me if it weren't brought so far into the mix that its hard to hear bass and some subtle guitar bits.
