10:03 on a Tuesday morning

in the fall of an American dream

a man is doing what he knows is right

on flight 93

Loved his mom and he loved his dad

loved his home and he loved his man

but on that bloody Tuesday morning

he died an American

[chorus]

Now you cannot change this

You can't erase this

You can't pretend this is not the truth

Even though he could not marry

Or teach your children in our schools

Because who he wants to love

Is breaking your God's rules

He stood up on a Tuesday Morning

In the terror he was brave

And he made his choice and without a doubt

A hundred lives he must have saved

[chorus]

And the things you might take for granted

Your inalienable rights

Some might choose to deny him

Even though he gave his life

Can you live with yourself in the land of the free

And make him less of a hero than the other three

Well it might begin to change ya

In a field in Pennsylvania

[chorus]

Stand up America

Hear the bell now as it tolls

Wake up America

It's Tuesday Morning

Let's roll

[chorus]

of course you haven't. for two reasons: 1) todd beamer got all the credit. i mean it's not a contest here obviously, but people say todd beamer did all the organization when that's not true. 2) i don't think the point was that he was gay but when you think about it it's unfair isn't it? america took away his rights, he gives his life FOR the people who denied him his rights (ie. those who work in the white house and the capitol)

I could care less if he was gay or straight..

All the men and women are equal heros! They are ALL amazing humans and I am personally thankful for EACH and EVERY ONE of those heros on that flight! They took the first step to taking down some of the terrorists! They saved so many of us! Thank you to all the members on flight 93!

This song is about Mark Bingham! One of the few that stood up to the terrorists on flight 93. Do some research. It would not be "more" publicized just because he was gay. He is simply a man that was a hero just like the rest on the flight. The point is he did not get as much recognition becase of the fact that he was not straight like the rest of the men and just like Melissa says "because who he chose to love is breaking your god's rules". Why do you put so much of the credit to Todd Beamer?

Incredible words. Love it.

I think it's about both Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham, because Bingham was a gay man.

So who is this about? In all I have read or seen about Flight 93 there has never been a mention of a gay man, or more exactly one that stood with Todd Beamer. I am not trying to say anything against this, I just want to know. I would think that this would be more publicized.

Because they were all Americans on Flight 93 well except the terrorists and they don't matter

Don't get to down, Melissa has immortalized this hero for all time with this song, he and the other heros on that day, at least for we people of liberal and open minds, people some may try to lessen what he did that day, I don't, I celebrate his and the other passengers lives everytime I hear it or play it, I know it seems like we have made no progress with equal rights, but we have, our democracy will grow and evolve someday, its just a very slow process, but we have come a long way since 1863.

My God... how fundamentalist Christianity has hurt this woman... to think that a nation could be so attached a delusion of understanding their scripture that they could oppress a people - and I thought they were bad here in Ireland. It's funny really... considering Christ never actually condemns homosexuality in the New Testament - and the Christian religion is following his apparent example... :-/ It's ridiculous :-/

@Galgamos, I don't mean to exclude anyone. However, this song is about America, an American Tragedy 9/11 and an American hero.
