she wasn't sick, this was 1987, she didn't die until 1990 people they simply decided to use puppets instead of have to do yet another video.

Great song and fun times and I got to enjoy them first time round.

Cool and criminally underrated band, and rather bizarrely a Killing Joke and KLF spin-off. Thatcherite? In some ways, i.e. sort of feminist-libertarian, but does rather show the tabloid media in a bad light, i.e. unable to tell the difference between Shirley Lewis and Shirley Armitage (a soap character played by her sister written out in 1990) . In the Respectable vid the former is dressed as tragic Motown starlet Tammi Terrell.

1:22-1:34 is where Sainsbury's at Camden town now stands. Opened in 1988.

'Respectable' was a great song but this is Thatcherite crap.

Cockney accent frowned upon? Erm...' Lazy Sunday' by The Small Faces (1968), 'Henry The Eighth' by Joe Brown & the Bruvvers (1961)...

Yeah same can be said for Queens later vids before the rest of us knew freddie was aidsed up and they used old footage which struck me at the time as indicating something was wrong but couldn't put my finger on it and was surprised even though it should have been obvious, we all knew about Mel in the papers and it was indeed very sad to see her in her wheelchair still smiling gorgeously, but they were upfront, no hiding here just a good creative concept trying to make the best of a sad situation

Mel was very sick at this point hence why they're only in the video via live footage someone dug up. This was 80's - way before they could do stuff like digital fairies to hide the fact Ginger Spice had jumped ship from the Spice Girls in "Viva Forever" :-)
