I am Muslim and I love this song. Beauty can be found in anything. You just have to be willing to set aside your bias and see it.

It doesn't matter whether it's religious or not. It's a great song, people will have different opinions about everything. That's what makes us different, that's why people have different religions and believes. Just keep your opinions to yourself and you won't have empty debates about whether or not it's religious.

Really like this song: its tune, its lyrics, and the way the singer sings it in this version. Just a bit funny to see it Posted on"ThatJesusMusic"since contains bondage and premarital sex. Thank u for Posting. Certainly IT IS a sweet song of thanks to God for a relationship, despite it ending poorly. I find the song very sensual and enjoy the real life, meaty lyrics. :)

I've heard there was a secret chordThat David played, and it pleased the LordBut you don't really care for music, do you?It goes like thisThe fourth, the fifthThe minor fall, the major liftThe baffled king composing HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahYour faith was strong but you needed proofYou saw her bathing on the roofHer beauty in the moonlight overthrew youShe tied you to a kitchen chairShe broke your throne, and she cut your hairAnd from your lips she drew the HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahBaby I have been here beforeI know this room, I've walked this floorI used to live alone before I knew you.I've seen your flag on the marble archLove is not a victory marchIt's a cold and it's a broken HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahThere was a time when you let me knowWhat's really going on belowBut now you never show it to me, do you?And remember when I moved in youThe holy dove was moving tooAnd every breath we drew was HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahMaybe there’s a God aboveBut all I’ve ever learned from loveWas how to shoot at someone who outdrew youIt’s not a cry you can hear at nightIt’s not somebody who has seen the lightIt’s a cold and it’s a broken HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahYou say I took the name in vainI don't even know the nameBut if I did, well, really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light in every wordIt doesn't matter which you heardThe holy or the broken HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahI did my best, it wasn't muchI couldn't feel, so I tried to touchI've told the truth, I didn't come to fool youAnd even though it all went wrongI'll stand before the Lord of SongWith nothing on my tongue but HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah, HallelujahHallelujah

hey atheists it's ok if this song is religious, because you don't need to be religious to listen too it. That's the beauty of music, everyone can connect to it in their own way. Some see it more as a more personal love song and some think it's more of a religious gospel song and that's okay!! Just enjoy his beautiful voice bc that's what brought us all here

& as far as it not being a church or gospel song are you listing to the same song lol The word "Hallelujah" "means to praise God in the highest"this word Hallelujah is said in this song at least 20 times or more ,What more could a song say to be gospel Praise God in the Highest 20 or more times this is surely a song of praise,Or it is as far as I am concerned you could cry out no better phrase then Praise God In The Highest

The beauty is the word it self Hallelujah "It means to praise God in the highest" an for those who say it is not a gospel type song you are not entirely correct ,The verse verse "I heard there was a secret cord that David Played an it pleased the Lord", is true King Saul had David living with him an David played the harp an it helped Saul sleep as after he fell from favor or disobeyed God he went Mad an had nightmares he was deprived of sleep an losing it,it speaks next of a The Baffled King composing Hallelujah, King Saul fell from Gods Favor an wanted back in ,He lost his ability to Hallelujah to praise God, The next it Says Your Faith was strong but you needed proof you saw here bathing on the roof her beauty in the moonlight over threw you. This was king David an his fall from grace He saw a women name Bathsheba, wife to his best an most loyal friend Uriah ,King David had her brought to him an she ended up pregnant he tried to get Uriah to come home, an be with his wife so he may think the child was his, Uriah was to loyal an slept on his masters step rather then at home with his wife,This also explains the next verse, She tied you to her Kitchen chair ,She Broke your thrown an she cut your hair, What this means Because of King Davids sin Just like King Saw he falls from Grace she Broke his thrown his descendants would not rule ,The next thing said she cut your hair This is also a reference to Sampson Who's great strength was in his hair so by saying she cut his hair she took his strength, Next From his lips she drew the Hallelujah, his ability to praise God as he was able to before I can keep goingNext "There was a time when you let me know what is really going on below" God use to walk with man as we are made in his image he loved us ,but time an time again we have fell short of our end this is why we don't know an we pray but do not hear hear his voice it is our own doing we failed the test over an over,"Even though it all went wrong I will stand before the lord of lords with nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah" Is there a need to say more it is a Great song really sad when taken in context We fell short an we no longer hear his voice how Sad that is for all Thank God that we have his words in the Bible what a Empty way it would be to live without his words an the power an healing an message of hope that they have.I have never heard his voice but I treasure his words. Hallelujah
