From former Procol Harum organist Matthew Fisher's 1973 solo album. Musically it suggests the battles Maf had lost over the direction of his former band's style; a few more hooks &, in some songs, a touch of the sound Dylan had with The Band,

Suzanne takes you downto the autumn of your madnesswhere organ parts were createdbut credits not were givenAnd you go to court and ask them:For those glitters should serve my pensionand the forty per cent you got out therejust sank beneath your honour like a stone...(I must admit, the last two lines might be a bit ambivalent, but I´m still holding my thumb up for Matthew´s courage).Keith Reid (unfinished lyrics for a title-song of a non-existent"French Connection"-prequel in which Reid plays a 70´style bourgois dope fiend)Come on, just a tiny intermission here..(-:

Brilliant songwriter & great LP. Sang some fantastic tracks on Procol Harum & his voice/ melodies balanced the dark side of PH. This album is filled with terrific music. I sincerely believe if The Beatles needed a single fulltime keyboard player who could also sing & write great melodies -- Matthew Fisher was that musician. "Suzanne," "Play the Game," & later the rockier "Running From Your Love." Sad. Don't know why Fisher didn't sing lead on any of the reunion PH tracks. He should have.
