This band fucked this song up. Huge disrespect to the original artists of stereo fuse. And who the fuck is Jim? #stereofuse

This song always makes me sob like a baby. It *really* doesn't help that the lyrics were printed in the service bulletin for Jim's funeral.

Hate this version compared to stereo fuse. It's like the original doesn't even try lol

This wasn't bad...I actually like the Stereofuse cover of this song better....but maybe that's only because this is my first time ever hearing this band sing this song...That I remember anyway. I was only a year old when this song originally came out though.

God it's sad to listen to MI songs, they are wistful enough as it is, but knowing Jim killed himself, and that it's been so long...I can't imagine the anguish for his family and friends to be able to see him preserved him in his youth in these videos. So damn sad.

beginning sounds like Heaven by Warrant...power pop and pop metal had way more in common than either side would have ever admitted back in the 80s and 90s

Best band ever....lucky enough to meet Jim before he passed. He was a true romantic in every sense of the word...he was so in love with the idea of love and unfortunately it contributed to his untimely death when life didn't meet his expectations and deep seated need to love and be loved unconditionally. Rest in peace, Jim...I hope that you finally have the love, acceptance, and peace that eluded you in your brief time here....know that you have touched many people with your music and lyrics.

@ceruleanpete Nobody here will deny that Paul Collins' first album "The Beat" is the definitive power pop album. I met Ted Ansani of Material Issue and he went on about Paul Collins Beat, stating that he is a huge fan. I met Doug Fieger from The Knack in 2007 and he said The Beat had the best songs by any power pop band ever. Paul Collins also had the group The Nerves, who did the song Hanging On The Telephone. How can you say I don't know power pop?

There was a cover version of this song done by some crappy top 40 alternative rock group about 10 years ago. As for Material Issue, these guys didn't have good songs like legendary power pop groups such as The Romantics, The Paul Collins Beat, Cheap Trick and The Knack. That first Paul Collins Beat LP and that first Romantics LP are solid albums of perfect power pop. Material Issue sounds like Christian rock or elevator music.

The greatest band that I woke up one day and said where did they go? A band that shaped my person as a youth. I'll always be grateful for the privilege of having heard this growing up.
