I connect to Matchbox Twenty lyrics like nothing I have ever felt before... This sots utterly retorted, but it's like they looked through my brain and sifted through my emotions, then put them into their lyrics, for all of their songs. And they just make me feel like.... I can't really explain it. Kind of like when you have been reading a really good series of books for so long and you finish it and you feel.... empty. But, I love Matchbox, no doubt about that.

A girl I just started dating literally did this exact thing to me. Not kicked me out of the car at a rest stop, but just blindsided me saying she tried, but never really wanted a relationship. "I don't want to be cold, I don't want to be cruel but I gotta find more than what's happening with you" is almost word for word the explanation I got. I'm not sad, but damn does this hit home.
