my sister gave up her youngest son, it must have been hard but it was hard for me too because i had been the one to be there with her throughout the pregnancy, there with her at the hospital, and more often than not, taking care of him while she partied. they call him Joseph now, and i don't have the right to see him...i will forever hope she gave everything to him.

I was put up for adoption when I was just under 1. I spent 2 years in a foster home. Then I was adopted by my new parents. Their are 7 adopted kids in my family including me. This song perfectly describes what my birth mother did for me. I cant wait to try and find her in a couple months. She really did give everything to me by giving me up.

Last year on my birthday (46th), I made a phone call that changed my life forever. You see I was calling a number that was emailed to me from a woman who was searching for the son she gave up for adoption. I made the call at 5:16pm. She returned my call at 6:02pm; exactly 46 minutes later. As soon as she answered the phone I recognized her voice; wasn't sure why until we talked. She told me that she used to sing to me every day when I was in the womb. Today a year later we have a wonderful relationship and our love has literally poured out into other aspects of our lives and those we are close to. God does not work in mysterious ways and I believe that with all my heart and soul. The gift He gave us last year is proof that God is working in each of our lives and know one knows adoption better than He. Through His Son Jesus Christ we are all given to God through adoption. My prayer is always for the child who feels abandoned and for the mother who gave a piece of herself to someone else. This is a brave and wonderful thing for a mother to do. I have been and will always be grateful for the choice my mother made that day back in 1967. I love you Mom.

Makes me cry because I have two siblings who were adopted from Guatemala. The birth parents of Maria and the birth parents of Luke would be proud of them today. I love them so much.
