If i had to pick ONLY ONE song that describes the last 50s to mid 60s, it would be this song. What a tribute to the music of the times. Don't think my memories would be nearly so vivid without it. All of us experienced the loss of a loved one in a car accident, during these times.

“Teen Angel” by Mark Dinning was the number one song in America on February 9, 1960. “Teen Angel” was written by Mark's sister Jean, who was a member with her two sisters of the vocal group The Dinning Sisters. It was about the tragic death of the narrator's girlfriend who stalls her car on a railway track. Because of the tragic storyline, many radio stations were reluctant to play the song when it was first released.
