From Love In A Mist 1967 (i know it says 1965 on the vid!) beautiful song written by Bob Lind . The video is edited from the 1973 Kiki Dee - Amoureuse original music vid.

Now is the glimmering spinning beginning

Of something I've prayed for and counted the minutes

To be in the shadows of sheltering meadows

Of night, here with you in my arms.

This is the moment that pauses to hold us

As you and I move in a background of wonder,

Surrounded by countless enclosures

Of nocturnal unspoken music of joy.

Counting times you have stood at the foot of my ivory tower

And waited, and called out my name by the hour,

And counted on the wings of my heartstrings

To carry the sound, I have counted on pleading,

You see how I need you, come down.

And now between twilight and midnight I come to you,

Down in my gown of soft moonbeams and starlight,

Bright is the evening, the breezes have fenced us

And nestled against us -

You're here -

and warm.

And mine till the time

When the dawn will awake you,

The morning will shake you,

The highway will take you.

But now all the rays of the moon making bouquets

Will swim through the luster of lingering street lights

We count on the night to hold everything even,

And count on forgetting that you will be leaving,

And destiny's folded and then in the dawn you'll be gone.

But now as the gardens of softening night time

Are blossoming slowly around where we are,

You and I come together

And walk through the dreams of the stars.

So here while the song of the deepening evening

Is singing to me from the light in your eyes,

We can count on each other to move to the beach of tomorrow

And know where we've been.

'Faithfull Forever' was a USA only release, 'Love In A Mist' was a Europe release with different track listing. Probably a Andrew Oldham decision.like the US only release of Donovan's 'Mellow Yellow' album, who he also managed at this time. Could explain why Donovan's 'Young Girl Blues' (on Marianne's Love In A mist album) was not recorded by him until many years later.

It says 1965 because the track first appeared in that year on the album "Faithfull Forever," her 2nd album released in the US. I believe "Love in a Mist" is a collection album put together later from previously-released LPs. Also interesting is that she left out one (just one!) of Lind's couplets for no apparent reason. I stand by my comment that her voice is somewhat limited; it in no way diminishes its appeal to me.

More atmosphere and feeling in this song than pretty much any female singer around at the moment

"Limited" voice? She may have achieved it by nefarious means but in terms of range, timbre and style, she's one of the few pop singers for whom the term 'limited' is way off.

Charlatan, huh? Well, if you just have to blame someone for promoting Ms. Faithfull beyond her actual talent, blame Andrew Loog Odlham. It was he who decided to put her in a recording studio, and he who instructed--not asked--Mssrs. Jagger and Richards to write a song to that end. This was all well before she and Mick became an item. That said, you have a different definition of "shit" than I do. Lovely, if limited, voice.

Ah Marianne Faithful, along with Nancy Sinatra one of the biggest charlatans in music history. Shit voice, no talent and great at ruining other peoples songs. If Jagger hadn't porked this parasite we'd never have heard of her. What a shame he did...

This song is brilliant, showing that Bob Lind's, "Elusive Butterfly" was not a lone work of genius. When will a filmmaker use either of these masteprices in a soundtrack and when will the Grammy's recognize Bob's contribution to music?

Works really well - I'd never seen the Amoreuse promo, but this looks tailor made for the MF one.
