I'm a trained singer who has sung in many operettas, musicals, choirs, and plays for many years. Any singer or vocal couch could attest to that singing softer controlled notes is much harder and requires more effort than stronger loud singing. Meaning singing the versus is harder than singing the big climax. Which, is why a lot of singers have trouble singing the first half of the song but sound great on the big climax. The same is true for Mariah. Is not that she's lipping because she sounds "strain" in the versus and great on the climax. It could be because of nerves or not warming up the voice before a performance that can cause problems when singing those softer more controlled notes.this performance was 100% LIVE!

Incredible ! I mean, it's not 100% perfect and she is off key a little bit at the end but it doesn't really matter. You can hear the struggle she's goin' through with her voice and you can see she's trying to pull through.Very inspiring to say the least !

You can tell she got vocally better from when she was promoting Butterfly. You can hear for years she was getting emotionally exhausted and I'm glad she finally gave herself the time to recuperate and I was sooooooooo happy for her when I saw this for the first time it aired. Good for you Mariah and even though she is struggling now as well all have our struggles, this woman will persevere and make all the haters eat their words!!!!! :-D I LOVE MIMI!!!!!

sorry, but its actually more like 60% live. the versus and the END END were the only parts live.. oh and the first line in the BRIDGE. the rest of the bridge, plus both choruses and the BIG ENDING off the bridgewas ALL BACKTRACK!! her trick is always when she faces her backup singers to a HIGH note, so the audience doesnt get the feel of the projection... she has to turn away since the audience is like FEET away.. anyone sitting front row could tell it were live or not. u can hear a singer EVEN w a mic
