I'm familiar with this song from Dusty Springfield. Maria's version has a faster tempo, and I like her changes. Both versions are good because both singers are great vocalists. The faster tempo of Maria gives a different perspective to the song.

Probably my fave chanteuse, tho' Natalie Merchant runs her a close second. I remember thinking, that when Breathe came out, after Show me Heaven was a huge it, Maria was gonna hit the bit time. Unbelievably, it disappeared without trace. Late 80s,' took some friends to see Lone Justice at the Town & Country in London. They'd never heard of them, but were converted on the spot !

Used to have this CD single, gave someone a loan & never saw it again. Been looking over 15 years as forgot the name. So chuffed to find it. Fantastic song and such an underrated artist.
