Just to buy into the legion v mortuus argument again, I think Mortuus strangled effects ridden vocals are just annoying, the studio albums with legion and his predecessors all had better vocals, but Mortuus is great for marduk live which is probably what really matters, voicewise it works, his stage presence is unengaging to say the least though.

@hollowtongue Legion sounded as if he was ready to stab you in the throat with a bayonet. Listen to night of the Long knives or To the Deaths head True. Mortuus really can't deliver those shrieking parts as well as Legion did. Mortuus also lives off of imagery and acts like a total stuck up child. Read his statements about how he actually believes in Satanic stuff and how he beat up some fan at a concert. Legion was a chill guy that perfected that warlike marduk sound. Just my opinion...

@trommnorse dude what the fuck are you guys talking about, i love legion, but honestly i think Marduk's work with Daniel Rosten has been the most powerful music of theres to date, especially Rom 5 12

My opinion: Mortuus should be in a Death Metal band, and let Legion get back to Marduk, Legion is more Black Metal.

@LMTR14 I don't think it's Mortuus' fault, as he is a very talented guy and a right person for extreme black metal. I think maybe Mortuus' becoming the vocalist coincided with Morgan's change of musical direction to that less spectacular. When it comes to Marduk I love "World Funeral" and "Panzer Division...", the latest CD's ar hardly half as powerful as those two I mentioned. Don't know why.
