Just to clarify - I believe the band is most certainly playing live. But without a background singer, Marc appears to be singing along with one of his own vocal tracks. That's why it sounds like there is two of him singing (there is) and some of the lip movements look off. But I'm pretty sure the extra vocal track (to replace the lack of background singers) is the only part of this that isn't live.

This is in effect a live performance or to be accurate 2 live performances mixed together. That was always the case when filming for this German TV program Musikladen and enabled bands to produce a sound closer to that of the release. On the same show they recorded just one take of Buick McKane Check it out here on youtube - a brilliant live perfomance

This show was broadcasted on German TV in February 1973 during the T.Rex German Tour. The same week this was taped I attended their gig in Nuremberg as a 13 year-old-my first concert ever. I rember everything as if it was yesterday-well, till they got on stage that is.From then on I have no recollection whatsoever. Seeing the idol of my teenage years just a few yards away got me into such a high that I must have simply lost it that night almost 40 years ago.
