It should never be "him and I". "He and I went to the movies with Sheryl" or "I went to the movies with him and Sheryl" or "He went to the movies with me and Sheryl" or "Sheryl went to the movies with me and him". The trick is to say the sentence as though there was only the one noun in the clause both ways, and then add them together.11 years ago
