I think rags are better when they're played fast, some are okay slow, but Maple Leaf Rag in particular sound better when its fast.

@Mylparo Probably a little performance adrenalin she hasn't learned to control yet. She will, she's quite wonderful.

My hands get so tired by the fourth section. The third section drains all my energy.

I think it's too fast. But it's still one of the best performances a have heard.

It's the distance between the audience and the microphone. Sound is slow, only 1100 feet per second. If the audience is 110 ft away, the total delay for each clap is twice 100 ms, or two tenths of a second. That's enough to be very annoying. The audience does not hear the delay and are clapping with the beat; it only shows up in the recording. I still loathe hearing people clap during the performance. What's worse is people who come up and try to talk to you while you are playing or singing.

I find it annoying that people clap in the middle of a performance.

Cassidy, it's been over six months now since I went to the contest and saw you play "Maple Leaf Rag," and I'm still raving about the job you did in Peoria! You really blew me away, and I wish nothing but the best for you. As they used to say back in the day: "Keep on keepin' on!"

Way to go Cass! You are amazing! That's my niece! At age 8 she placed 3rd in the world which led to her playing in Carnegie Hall! She is truly a virtuoso!

Sheesh...at 12 I was still languishing under the oppressive thumb of James Bastien. This young lady's skill is amazing.
