I wish a company would put out a DVD of their 1975 Summer Replacement Show. That's how I came to love them & their music.

because well it's anew york thing it's like because they're jewish they would be politcally prnboe to cover black music because they identify with the hatred of the white oppressor, while george jones tammy wynette loretta lynn would be considered bad because they're hillblillies

Good version of this tune! Really faithful to the original Woody Herman version. Vocalese is rather difficult to do--it's hard to to make words with your mouth as quickly as a sax player can play. Just imagine if someone could improvise both coherent lyrics and melody to a song, rather than just put words to the melody and solos of an existing instrumental recording? We'd all go absolutely crazy for it! I'm not so crazy for the MT's dancing; feels what jazz isn't--really choreographed.

Manhattan Transfer were at Ronnie Scotts (London) a few months ago. They were a sell-out. They must all be in their 60's or 70's by now!
