I'm sorry - I thought this movie was just awful, but the Sound Track is wonderful. Between this album (Yes, I have it on vinyl - bought it when it was just released), John Wesley Harding and Desire, I honestly think it's a toss-up for his best. Cheers

I heard commentary on the film from a DVD extra. The experts commented on how there were difference between the man hired to score the film and Dylan. They went with Dylan, but Peckinpah had reservations. But I don't see how the film score by Dylan could have been any better. It fit the tone of the movie. It was appropriate for the beautiful cinematography of New Mexico (really Mexico). The film has a dreamy quality that gets better with age.
