Oir esta obra al pensar en la partida de los hijos a otra patriaProduce un estallido de tristezas en el alma / cada nota es una lágrima en el pensamiento / es la combinación alma/realidad/anhelos

This is not the complete 11-13minutes. Prior to hearing this, my favourite piece was'Barber's' Adagio for strings. This is the most beautiful piece of music i have ever heard and would dearly like to have it played at my funeral in full. The Devil absent please. He can take me after it has finished playing.

Yes, this work is certainly inspired by Wagner. Just shows that music has no limits.

So it's not really that Mahler is "better" than the others – "better" is an opinion. It's that this music is powerful and has more lasting value. It's great when people appreciate this, but numbers are irrelevant.

Justin Bieber is good if you like that type of stuff and have a four-minute attention span. It's catchy, but will be forgotten soon. Andre Rieu? Sure, he's good for easy listening, background music, and introducing people to symphonic music, but compared to great virtuosi like Heifetz and the like, he'll be forgotten soon too. Bernstein and Mahler? They'll still be here after the world ends, because the emotion of great music like this is universal and eternal.
