Psychosis Holochaust Battle rapper hip hop artist with Prison Planet Records hail from The Steel City. Also don't forget the legendary Niche nightclub in Sheffield the club that was the Godfather of the bassline dance movement. Et al Hacienda in Manchester spawned a thriving music scene. Niche did a lot for Dance Culture in the 90s/00s as well.

1:08 I find that part kinda ironic because ABC, a great band from Sheffield, did that in there video "The Night You Murdered Love".

just like to remind duerdenn that def leppard sold more record than all the bands that came out of sheffield put together, all the bands that came out of sheffield all played a part in putting sheffield on the map...

before Kraftwerk were Shaeffer then Stockhausen, after went the Human League or cabaret voltaire to bring that concept into dance... no techno no electro or whatever shit without them.

tjmassey-the 80s were the very best decade. More experimentation and cross pollination of genres and technological leaps than any decade up to that point. I staunchly disagree with your opinion, but hey, it's your opinion.

Well actually I just checked Kraftwerk had 7 albums before the cabs released there first and the formed 3 years earlier.

I'm a big fan of the cabs and prefer them to kraftwerk and the aweful Human league, but non of their material was officially released untill 1978, and Kraftwerk already had 4 albums by then, Caberet Voltaire followed in the slipstream of Throbbing Gristle
