I believe this is from the Oakland Ca. show. My oldest brother, R.I.P. is in the audience here. He invited me to this show but I just got a new girlfriend and told him I would catch them the next time around. That time never came. So I never saw them live. Same thing happened with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Go figure.

The plane that crashed was previously offered to Aerosmith before Skynyrd took it. Aerosmith, thought the plane was too old and decided not to take it. Skynyrd had taken a vote, and they decided the trip to Baton Rouge would be the last trip on that plane. Led Zeppelin had just gotten a jet and Ronnie Van Zant thought it was time for them to do the same. It's a damn shame they didn't get ride of that damn old plane before. Ronnie Van Zant was a huge talent that is just being recognized to this day. I love his simple lyrics and style. There will never be another Ronnie Van Zant.
