The pianola joke at the end of the song's characteristic and that funny too!

The feud of who owns the title of the blues: Memphis, St. Louis, NOLA may never be won. But I've been to Memphis on that Beale Street seranade, and she is sweet lady of the South!

can we get an ID on this piano player? Is he the player from the Joshua Judges Ruth album? Great stuff. I always love the ambivalent wit of this song. In fact the songwriting and musicianship on Joshua Judges Ruth is near flawless and along with I Love Everybody might be two of this most criminally underrated albums of all time. The sheer variety of style of these albums along with the funniest lyrics keep me coming back. From Fat Babies to Church, There's only one Lyle Lovett.

This piano player is unbelievably good. Fabulous technique and spectaculat originality. I have never heard most of his riffs and solos. A virtuoso talent.

I've seen Lovett in concert twice and am convinced he's one of the most underrated and unrecognized vocalists of the last 20 years. His band is fantastic too!

I saw Lyle and his Large Band in Columbus this summer. WOW!!! So talented and all 19 ppl on that stage could really lay it down. Hard to pin down Lyle Lovett. 89 charted singles. Several Grammy & CMA awards. Jazz at times, blues, love ballads, Bluegrass, Americanna, and of course, TEXAS SWING. I wish he had a shirt that merely said: Texas Swing? I,,,LOVETT
