Seems like the recording is messed up. At 1:33, there should be a strong guitar but it's non existent. Where is the guitar?

I'm another guy who likes the Split version better. In fact, I want the sheet music for it. Not to play it, just to read it.

The split version is much better. I just realized how amazing this song is, has the album for 5 years . Lol

I like both version. I like the trippy, relaxed feeling of this version. I think the only reason I like the Split version is for two main reasons. One is that is seems to be a little more energetic for me and sounds really strong. Second, is that it fits really well in the context of that album. It's not that I don't like this version and in fact, I can see why many people prefer this version. It has a certain quality that Spooky had. Spooky is Minnesota for me and Split is California. hahaha

haha you're not alone on that! The Split version is one of their greatest songs period. This version has a more drenched feel to it but the break down and subsequent build up at 2:00 in the Split version leaves me in a trance. Aside from "De-Luxe" Starlust is my favorite Lush tune.

You and I must be the only one's that prefer the Split version. I do love this version and it's definitely more raw power. But, I love the build up of the Split version.

The last minute and a half of this song is fucking glorious.

Actually, I loved how they put out separate EPs and did different things with those like including different songs, covers or remixes. I didn't really care for the remixes on the Split EPs. But, the original, as well as the one cover, were pure jems. I would say that I can listen to Lush's records back to back and not get tired of them. In fact, I've done it before. Hopefully, they'll remaster Lush's material soon and include them as bonuses on the albums giving them a proper place at the end.

This is my absolute favourite Lush song - although that keeps changing, depending on my mood at the time. Other times, it is either For Love, Nothing Natural, Superblast!, Monochrome or Untogether, all from Spooky. Such a shame they didn't include this, or Outdoor Miner, on that album. It's already my favourite album of all time (a hell of a feat, considering that Genesis' Selling England by the Pound had worn that crown since 1973!), but those 2 would have made it unassailable. Still adore it!!

This is the Robin Guthrie produced version - lots of chorus and flanging on the guitars. I like this a bit better than the later Split version, although both are great.

@LambChowder1 If you think that's loud, try the version on "Split."

This is the original version - the song later appeared on Lush's third album Split and this version sounds more like the songs on the second album Spooky. The different arrangement gives the song a different, more dreamier feel that on the 1994 Split version.
