Artists like this help propel rap as more than just entertainment but poetry that can actually edify the populace instead of constantly bombarding them with meaningless media to hinder their self-actualization. Critical thinking and skepticism is kept alive with these artists. Good day sir/ma'am!

I definitely agree. In terms of content, he has more in common with Bishop Lamont than J. Cole. If anything, Jay Electronica, Lupe and NaS are poignant in their social commentary and esoteric knowledge. Jay Elect is an enigma and NaS is the most versatile rapper due to the differing themes of his albums. I would also consider Immortal Technique as an amazing lyricist whose subject matter is so blunt but necessary. Oh yeah, can't forget Dead Prez and a few others that I can't recall momentarily.

I can respect that as your opinion. In my opinion, putting Lupe in the same category as them is like comparing Dom Perignon Vintage Rose to a 6 pack of warm Mickey's. Lil Wayne, and Big Sean are so far below the bar it's ridiculous. I don't know about Future but I doubt he's in the same ballpark as Lupe. But these are just opinions of course.
