Lovely orchestration and choir. But sorry, but I do prefer the original french version by Adam. Maybe because it makes me think of the song as I used to hear it a long time ago when I was still a child (English had not yet invaded the world as it has now). Incidentally and curiously enough, the Domingo part of this performance sounds much nicer to my ears, even if I'm a great admirer of Pavarotti. I also suggest you listen to the Roberto Alagna version in French, which is really delightful.

Excellent, but try Jussi Bjorlings version o helga natt it blows this out of the water. When Pavarotti was described as the new Jussi Bjorling he said no don 't do that I am only human!

i thank God for the mediums,of records,and now cd's to preserve the great singing talents.We did loose but the cd's,we preserve the lost talent that death took away,from us.I love music,and tenors in particular.God bless.

how beautiful was this? for full majestic intent, though, one has to appreciate this in english, imo. english speakers and/or easl speakers, shall get the french to english synergy of this hymn, imo.sometimes a rendition of a tune is better translated to another language. be that as it may, when or if you do listen to this in english, if a tear doesn't roll down your cheek, I don't know what to tell you :)
