with The Tots:

Bass -- Bobby Resigno

Drums -- Scottie Clark

Lead and Slide Guitar -- Eddie Reynolds

Lead and Rhythm Guitar - Vinny LaPorta

This album which may well be Lou Reed's best live Solo album (thanks a lot to a fabolous bad named The Tots) was recorded on 26th December 1972 and transmitted in a "Saturday Night In Concert" Radio Broadcast in January 1972, which was then re-broadcast in the mid 1980s. It showcases titles from his time with Velvet Underground as well as his later solo hits, but above all, it presents tracks from his most successful album Transformer which was produced by David Bowie and arranged by his epic guitarist Mick Ronson. The Tots at the time were at the top of their form with brilliant ensemble guitar playing and Lou Reed himself receives a rapturous reception from his home town audience.

me too, i'm that old as well, also saw him earlier, around the 1st solo LP, and if my memory doesnt faill me, he was supporting Alice Cooper. of course at Concertgebouw. His "best"show was the R&R Animal tour, also Concertgebouw, about 1973., Lou totally lost, it looked.

Ashame, there is so little material of his "early" days, beter saying , his BEST days, mid-seventies ( or Velvet!). Let s face it, he was just a cult idol then, not mass poular at all. I saw him 3 times in 1971-1973, Amsterdam, he came every year.... i hooked off at Sally cant Dance, the blonde hair..... returning with his 1977 LP.
