Yep, good obesrvation. I heard it the first time I saw the clip (guess it was 8 years ago now), and can't believe no one has commented about that until now! To me, this is very annoying, when the bass is dead. By the way, at 2:30 you see Ian turning around and is probably thinking "What the hell is going on?!" :)

Sometimes shit just happens. Maybe he stepped on his cord and it popped out on either end (bass or amp head) and his tech didn't catch it fast enough. Maybe something happened at the booth. It could be one of many reasons.
