I think Henry is mirroring the narrator's indecision. The narrator can't decide if she's going to stay in her town and become a "polyester bride" or whether she should leave and face an uncertain future. Henry is telling her she has plenty of time to make a decision. Not sure if the song is autobiographical or not.

I like both versions but for different reason. The original one has the honesty and lofi indie rock we've gotten used too. The Whitechoclatespaceegg made a nice catchy popish song that worked as well. They sound like two completely different songs.
