This song is more than just brilliant. Reminds me that I can feel. Totally love Liz Phair's genius.

I think i read somewhere Liz said this song is about growing out of puberty. to me, the lyrics definitely support the comparison that it's about transforming from a pubescent girl to a grown woman with a mature sexual identity. Although some of the lyrics are ambigous to me, such as the line about knees turning back/black.

Liz does such meditative lovely songs with such biting bitter plaintive lyrics - I love her for this

I've loved this song from the first time I heard it. A great collection of songs on 'Juvenilia'. I got almost obsessive about this one, though. But "Dead Shark", "Easy", "Batmobile" and the cover of "Turning Japanese are great, too.
