Made yourself into more than a manThe anointed one by your own handSpeech is perfect, masked vulgaritySight is straight, dark rigidityAll is copaceticProjected, unacceptingEveryone is hurtEveryone is brokenEveryone is bleedingInsideI’ve lived enough to knowEveryone has suffered, sufferedInside, insideWho would even need to see?Who would even seem to care? What you see is shallowWho would even need to see?Who would even seem to care? There is no room, no room for despairThat mask is so deceptiveDespite this lifeTry and hide, try and hideFrom down low, so much darknessCasts a shadow on your broken haloI’ve lived enough to knowSo much darknessSeeds are sownEveryone is hurtEveryone is brokenEveryone is bleedingInsideI’ve lived enough to knowEveryone has suffered, sufferedInside, insideWho would even need to see?Who would even seem to care? What you see is shallowWho would even need to see?Who would even seem to care? There is no room, no room for despairEveryone is hurtEveryone is brokenEveryone is bleedingInsideI’ve lived enough to knowEveryone has suffered, sufferedInside, inside

This song is about hypocritical false prophet pastors who don’t really meet the spiritual and emotional needs of their church members. They skirt around the spiritual issues that truly matter; and in politically correct fashion, try to leave their congregation with the false impression that “all is copacetic.” By their candy-sweet sermons, they “mask their vulgarity” and use that “speech” which “is perfect” to impress and persuade the intellectual elite. And yet, “Everyone is bleeding inside.” The answer, “Smile! Lift your head up. God loves you.” The cliche of the positive thinking pastor: “there is no room for despair” in his church, he’s not the type to preach to the problem of pain; not the type to grapple with the darker side of life; all is a-okay; “all is copacetic.” Definitely a good frustration-expresser for those of us who are turned off by the Seeker-Sensitive pastors of today’s evangelical churches.
