A decent effort from Mr. Nelson, but this performance just shows how second-rate a singer he is compared to the greatness of Glenn Shorrock who's vibrato was precise, consistent and effortless. Nelson's on the other hand is forced, exaggerated and inconsistent. Why Farnham didn't sing the lead on this performance is very confusing when again, he was such a superior singer. After Glenn's flawless vocal on this track, this performance sounds like a second-rate cabaret-style cover version that you'd hear in an elevator. This is unlistenable compared to the original.

Wayne Nelson has a way better voice than anyone in the Little River Band from start to finish...His Vibrato is spot on....Don't take a genius to figure that out....He is the most talented member the band has ever had....Glenn Sharrock was a singer who did OK and left .....Thank You God !!!!!........EVERTHING HAPPENS FOR a REASON !!!!

On this day in 1982 {March 7th} "Take It Easy On Me" by the Little River Band peaked at #10 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; it entered the chart on November 29th, 1981 at position #82 and spent 19 weeks on the Top 100...It reached #14 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart...Between 1976 and 1985 the sextet had fifteen records on the Top 100 chart; with six making the Top 10, and "Reminiscing" being their biggest hit, it peaked at #3 in 1978 {half their Top 10 records peaked right at #10, besides this one there was "Lady" and "Cool Change"}...
